The Curve Greater Manchester West NHS Gilling Dod Architects Category: Healthcare — Contractor: Vinci Construction — Year of completion: 2015 Project Value: £5m Home / Projects / Healthcare / The Curve WorkSpace was recently appointed to carry out work at The Recovery Academy in Prestwich, and worked closely with the Architects Gilling Dod. The Centre is also known as ‘The Curve’ due to its curved wall in the entrance which provides a much improved ‘first impression’ to the hospital site. The innovative £5m educational hub provides a range of free educational courses and resources for people with mental health and substance misuse problems, their families and carers, as well as health care professionals. The success of the Recovery Academy in two short years has been phenomenal and we wanted to show the world what 21st Century Mental Health services could look like -Gill Green, Director of Nursing & Operations. Scope of work included feature wall cladding to curved wall, bespoke reception seating, Corian® worktops and sinks, units, shelving, mirrors, dispensers and notice boards.
