The new £28m Mental Healthcare facility was completed in 2020. Located alongside the River Foss, the 6.5 acre site has been transformed to create the new state-of-the-art hospital that will provide high quality mental health inpatient care. The beautiful surroundings, natural daylight and muted colours of the interior provide a calm, peaceful environment to patients and staff alike. WorkSpace Design supplied the full FF&E package for the 72 bed hospital including fitout of the receptions, bedrooms, treatment rooms, Clean/Dirty Utilities, ADL Kitchens, Café/eating areas and storage rooms. There are four 18 bed wards – two adult, single sex wards and two older people’s wards – one for people with dementia and one for people with mental health conditions such as psychosis, severe depression or anxiety. All wards have supporting day spaces and therapy rooms. Supporting accommodation includes for a 136 assessment suite, ECT treatment and space for home treatment and care home liaison teams. This facility will provide access to high quality mental health care and offer cutting edge facilities that support our service user, families and carers with their care needs.
